3,000 schoolchildren are heading with an extra pep in their step this morning as they will be taking part in a virtual fashion in the first Gaelic Players All Ireland Leadership Conference.
They will hear leadership stories from players within their own communities representing each of Men’s Football and Hurling, Camogie and Ladies Football.
The event has sprung from the Jim Madden Leadership programme which hundreds of players have ‘graduated’ through since it was established.
We were joined this morning by Karen Thorpe, Alumni and Education Manager at the Gaelic Players Association to hear a little more about the event.
